Conecuh County Conservation Services
Conservation districts are the local connection between those who use and work the land to the education, technical knowhow, and resources they need to be good stewards of our natural resources.
Funding for various Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) programs becomes available each year to assist land users achieve their conservation goals. Explore the programs below, and contact your local district administrative coordinator to determine your eligibility.
Agricultural Conservation Easement Program
Agricultural land easements protect the longterm viability of the nation’s food supply by preventing conversion of productive working lands to nonagricultural uses. Land protected by agricultural land easements provides additional public benefits, including environmental quality, historic preservation, wildlife habitat, and protection of open space.
Conservation Stewardship Program (CSP)
Through CSP, participants take additional steps to improve resource condition including soil quality, water quality, water quantity, air quality, and habitat quality, as well as energy.
Environmental Quality Incentives Program (EQIP)
Eligible program participants receive financial and technical assistance to implement conservation practices, or activities such as conservation planning, that address natural resource concerns on their land.
Cogongrass Grant – RC&D Project - Cogongrass Control

Annual Alabama Coastal Cleanup
Conecuh SWCD has adopted Sparta's Class of 2023 to participate in the Annual Alabama Coastal Cleanup each year. We choose an area that needs cleaning and spend the morning picking up trash and debris during. This is held during the third week in September. Right now we have a fine group of 20 children.
